Description

Introduction:


• Shopping centers are an interesting topic for knowledge management – relying on interdependency between owner, retailers and shoppers.

• Manager of shopping malls would like to learn more about buying habits of customers, on a given trip to the store.

• As an answer to the managers question market basket analysis which help to design different store layouts.

• There is a need to find ways to automatically analyze the data, classify it, summarize it, discover and characterize trends.

• Improving shopper satisfaction can lead to changes in population, expenditure, residence patterns and bring new life to run-down areas.

• This project considers the possibilities for shopping centers to make their offer more attractive using techniques of data mining.

 

Objective of the System:


• To create a shopping mall this sells products of various categories in different areas of the city.

• To apply the basic Association Rules-Apriori algorithm for implementation of Web Usage mining process to producing usage

• To analyze the outputs usage patterns and user behaviours for buying patterns from the Usage Mining implementation process.

 

Scope of the System:


• Research Organization: Some shopping Mall (Ex. BIG BAZAR).

• Focus of Project: Extract the customer buying patterns of different products within a period,reprocessing the set of raw data, select the data that contribute for pattern analysis, implement the pattern mining using basic Association algorithm, in order to produce the final results(rules).
